JUBAH HITAM’s music is deeply inspired by Islamic beliefs, using heavy metal as a means to explore spirituality. They see playing metal music and living abroad as forms of spiritual asceticism, where suffering and joy are constant companions. Their performances invite the audience to experience this emotional and sensory journey, diving into the paradox of pain and joy.
Formed in 2019, this heavy metal band brings a metalcore sound with members who are all Indonesian migrant workers. The lineup includes Robby (vocalist), David (guitarist), Haris (synthesizer and vocals), Andy (guitarist), Dion (bassist), and Feri (drummer). They’ve performed at major events like the Megaport Festival and Taiwan Death Metal Festival.
