“Li” is a customary unit of measurement for agricultural land in Taiwan. The work utilizes half ‘Li’ units to occupy an area. Corn, a primary crop and industrial material, has been extensively domesticated, making it challenging to thrive naturally in the wild. We attempt to integrate human intervention as an aspect of nature by transplanting landscapes to simulate a new territory and cultivating a sense of symbiosis.
Sangusantu is a collaborative art project rooted in Wuri Taichung, organized by artist Pin Hui Chen and local farmer Luo Yao Liao. Focusing on the interaction between the surrounding land, crops, and people, the experiments vary according to the climate and the growth of crops.
