Hi-Quality was founded in 2023, “Hǎi Kuò Lā Dì” draws its name from the Chinese homophone of "High Quality." Formed by Min Shih-Han and Chen Chih-Yang, it primarily works with animation, 3D-printed models, and kinetic installations. Its artworks focus on Taiwan's hell concepts and traditional culture, reinterpreted through a distinct Taiwanese aesthetic.
Hell Lottery Machine is a kinetic installation that parodies the traditional fortune-slip machines commonly found in Taiwanese temples. Combining 3D-printed hell creatures, miniature scenery, lighting, and sound effects, the machine is activated by pressing a button, triggering the lights as Horse-Face enters a demon’s head to retrieve a fortune slip. The machine contains ten different slips, each speaking in the voice of one of the Ten Kings of Hell to encourage good deeds and warn against wrongdoing, inviting visitors to playfully draw a moral message from hell.
