招潮蟹之春
Spring of the Fiddler Crabs

Spring of the Fiddler Crabs is an interactive kinetic sound installation inspired by the courtship behavior of fiddler crabs. Fiddler crabs attract potential mates by waving their enlarged claws and play a vital role in coastal wetlands through filter-feeding and burrowing, helping to maintain healthy soil. Visitors can play their own songs through their mobile phones, causing the mechanical crab claws to move in rhythm with the music. By bringing together the ways humans and fiddler crabs express affection, the work seeks to create a bridge of empathy between people and another species.
