Yi-Chiao Tsai was born in Tainan and now works as a dancer and choreographer. Unbound by convention, she often gazes into the gaps between reality and unreality with a unique perspective and rich imagination. Rooted in diverse body vocabularies and blending contemporary and Gen Z aesthetics, her creations explore inner psychological states, identity, and the boundaries between virtual and physical realities, building a world that invites audiences to actively enter, feel, and question.

Now Playing begins with six performers and crafts an inviting nocturnal space. Through music, movement, and impromptu interaction, it invites passersby to share nighttime songs, memories, and moods, gradually transforming public engagement into a collective physical performance. Rather than following a fixed narrative, the piece evolves organically through the audience, space, and atmosphere, making every encounter part of the work. Here, viewers are not mere spectators but co-creators. Embracing public space as a site of encounter, companionship, and sharing, the work embodies the fluid, immediate, social, and hybrid spirit of “Night Ka Shi.”
