視覺作品|VISUAL ART

Tsz-Ho Chow, born in Hong Kong in 1999, graduated from the Graduate Institute of Plastic Arts at National Tainan University of the Arts, and currently lives and works between Taiwan and Hong Kong. His artistic practice focuses on the use of symbolic metaphors and the integration of diverse media and techniques to facilitate conceptual translation. At present, he is particularly interested in the contextual frameworks of readymade objects, seeking to capture those illusory, uncanny moments that emerge within everyday life.

笨東西
Dumb object

Dumb Object gathers assorted fragments from everyday odds and ends. Through disassembling, shifting, and reassembling, the works detach these objects from their original functions and contexts of use. By placing, inserting, stacking, and propping—and through repeated trial and error as well as chance combinations—new relationships are generated between the objects. Adopting a simple, even awkward approach, the series takes the everyday actions of casually setting things down, tidying up, and supporting things as the starting point from which the work unfolds.
