Yudance, founded in 2020 by choreographer Chun-Yu Lin, is dedicated to dance creation, performance, curatorial practice, and interdisciplinary exploration. The company explores the contemporary body and the interplay between dance, literature, music, and space. Recent works include Yuri, Herstory, and Blueprints. Its annual production, She Said She Would Buy the Flowers Herself, will be presented this December.
Blueprints (Special Edition for Nuit Blanche Taipei) takes photographic development as its central metaphor, tracing the silhouettes and stories of women within the spaces of their lives. Closed eyes become a way of seeing, skin a photosensitive surface, and hair a grid weaving an intimate psychological room. Featuring the Taiwanese shoegaze band The Giraffe Told Me in My Dream, the performance lets dreams linger through dance, text, and sound.
