Cinema Under the Stars! NIGHT KA SHI Cinema Brings Taiwan's Film History to Life

Nuit Blanche Taipei 2026 once again partners with the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute (TFAI) to present NIGHT KA SHI Cinema, an outdoor screening experience that brings Taiwan’s cinematic heritage and cultural memories to life under the night sky of Yuanshan.

From rare railway short films of the 1930s to a Taiwanese-language feature filmed in Beitou, the program traces the connections between railways, hot springs, and Nagashi culture. Through these historic images, discover how Beitou evolved from a hot spring destination into a major filming location for Taiwanese-language cinema.

Bring a picnic blanket, settle in beneath the stars, and enjoy a memorable evening where cinema, music, and the city's history come together!
